Initial Assessment and Booking Appointment
- Your first booking visit (usually 8–10 weeks) is the most detailed. We build the full picture, including medical history, medications, lifestyle, family history, and any concerns you’re carrying.
- We do baseline checks and essential blood tests to screen for anaemia, blood group and Rh factor, immunity status, infections, and other factors that can affect pregnancy.
- An early ultrasound confirms the pregnancy is in the right place, dates it accurately, checks for twins, and reassures early development.
Regular Monitoring Appointments
- Your regular follow-ups keep everything on track: blood pressure checks, urine tests, weight monitoring, growth assessment, baby’s heartbeat, and time to discuss symptoms.
- Regular screening can flag issues early, long before they become emergencies.
Screening Tests Throughout Pregnancy
- Weeks 11–14 (First trimester screening): A combined check using blood tests plus a nuchal translucency ultrasound to estimate risk for chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome.
- Weeks 18–22 (Anomaly scan): A detailed anatomy ultrasound that reviews the baby’s organs, spine, limbs, heart, kidneys, and overall development to pick up structural concerns early.
- Weeks 24–28 (Glucose tolerance test): Screens for gestational diabetes, even if you feel completely fine, so diet/medication changes can start on time.
- Weeks 35–37 (Group B strep screening): Identifies mothers who may need antibiotics during labour to reduce the baby’s infection risk at birth.
- Extra tests if needed: Amniocentesis when screening shows a higher risk, growth scans if the baby is measuring small, and closer/frequent monitoring if any complication develops or your pregnancy is high-risk.
Managing Existing Medical Conditions
If you have diabetes, thyroid issues, hypertension, epilepsy, or autoimmune conditions, we adjust medications accordingly.
Lifestyle and Nutritional Guidance
- Our specialist, being one of the best gynaecologists in Surat will also guide you through the practical everyday details like what to eat, what to avoid, and which supplements you may need (folic acid in early pregnancy, iron if you’re anaemic, and vitamin D for most women).
- You’ll also get exercise advice, what’s safe, what needs modifying, and warning signs to stop, along with sleep guidance, travel restrictions, and sexual activity safety.
Preparation for Labour and Birth
We talk through labour stages, pain relief options, when to come in, feeding choices, and postnatal recovery, so you feel ready, not rushed.
High-Risk Pregnancies: When Extra Care Is Essential
Some pregnancies need closer antenatal monitoring from the start, especially if you’re under 17 or over 35, carrying twins, or have had past complications like pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm birth, or stillbirth.
Conditions like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid issues, heart/kidney disease, epilepsy, obesity, or smoking can also raise risk. At The Naari, we coordinate with maternal-foetal medicine specialists when required, while keeping your care continuous and supported.
